What did achieving the Pathway designation mean to you, personally and as a member of your organization?

Getting the Pathway designation is very important to me. Working towards the Pathway designation helped the Covenant Children’s Hospital unite around a shared goal. The goal was to create a safe and caring work environment for our patients and a place where patients and their families trust the quality of care. Being the Pathway Program Director also taught me the leadership skills I need as a Nurse Manager. Being able to learn from our Chief Nursing Officer of Shannon Bates led me to be successful in our journey.

How do you feel the PTE framework supports your nurses at any given time?

What are your strategies for sustaining your PTE designation?

To maintain our designation, Covenant Children’s Hospital strives to keep a healthy work environment as our priority. A safe and healthy work environment leads to safer patient care. We display the Pathway to Excellence banner in our ministry's front lobby to show our community that we are dedicated to excellence for both caregivers and patients.
