Pathway Analysts

Maggie McCright

MSN, RN, NE-BC

With 20 years of healthcare and nursing experience, Maggie joined the Pathway to Excellence program as a Senior Pathway Program Analyst in 2017. She assists organizations with the document submission process on their journey towards designation. Maggie has served in both educator and leadership roles in Atlanta GA, Fairfax VA and Bethesda MD. Her peers describe her as an innovator and change agent with strong critical thinking and analytical skills. She is ANCC certified as a Nurse Executive.

After graduating with a BS in Health Care Management from Maryville University of St. Louis, Maggie earned her BSN from Mercer University and her MSN from Capella University.

Melissa Bates

DNP, RN, CDE

Melissa joined the Pathway to Excellence program as a Senior Pathway Program Analyst in 2017. She assists organizations with the document submission process on their journey towards designation. Melissa has served in patient and staff education roles as well as clinical nurse positions in both Cape Canaveral, FL, and Washington, DC. Her colleagues describe her as an dedicated problem solver who gets things done. She is also a certified diabetes educator.

Melissa has an ADN from State College of Florida (formerly Manatee Community College), MSN in Nursing Education from University of Central Florida, and DNP in Healthcare Leadership.

Jennifer Hargreaves

DNP, RN, NE-BC

Jennifer joined the American Nurses Association in 2016 and has been with the Pathway to Excellence program as a Senior Pathway Program Analyst since 2018. In this role she assists organizations with the document submission process on their journey towards designation. Jennifer has an extensive background in managing implementations of healthcare policies and procedures in the areas of Nursing and Education. She has also exceled in operationalizing and evaluating comprehensive teaching coordinating delivery of health services within a community hospital settings. Jennifer is also a ANCC Board Certified Nurse Executive.

Jennifer earned her diploma in nursing from Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing (formerly Beebe School of Nursing), MSN from University of Delaware, and acquired her DNP in Healthcare Administration from Villanova University.

Leigh Hume

MN, RN

Leigh Hume graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University and received her Masters of Nursing from the University of Washington. Her clinical background includes neonatal intensive care, clinical research and program development as it relates pediatric asthma. Ms. Hume has been with the ANCC since 2008 and currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Pathway to Excellence program’s appraisal process.
